Mowbray Maternity Hospital

A secondary maternity hospital situated in Mowbray, ± 3 km from Groote Schuur Hospital.

Opened in 1967, it was renovated in 1992 and took over the responsibilities of the Peninsula Maternity Hospital (between the city centre and the original District 6), which has since been closed.

Tertiary obstetric services are also provided at the Maternity block of Groote Schuur Hospital, with a full-time anaesthesia consultant and rotating registrars.
